About CisternYard Media

CisternYard Media consists of four distinct student media organizations and two supporting marketing departments. Each group offers unique ways for students to become involved, meet people from diverse backgrounds and gain practical training in various media.

CisternYard News

CisternYard News is the official online campus news source, publishing news, sports and entertainment content regularly at News also produces "The Yard," a feature magazine which is printed two times each semester. To get involved, email


Miscellany is the College’s student-produced literary and art journal. Students are invited to submit original artwork, poetry, photography and prose for to be considered for inclusion in the publication. A student committee selected by the editor-in-chief will meet during the beginning of each spring semester to select works for publication in The Miscellany. CisternYard Video

CisternYard Video is the College of Charleston's student run production group which presents a diverse range of content in news, sports, comedy and entertainment. CisternYard Radio

CisternYard Radio is the college’s student run radio station.  Streaming live 24/7 during the school year, Radio puts the spotlight on local and regional music.  Volunteer DJs have a one or two hour show once a week where they completely control the content of the radio broadcast.  CYR hosts several annual music events on campus and works with street teams to promote musical events in the Charleston area at venues such as the Music Farm, Charleston Pour House and Awendaw Green.  Radio also remotes broadcasts from athletic games and other events on campus. Sales (Advertising)
